About Me

Alexandrea "Alex" Dioso
Alex is a multidisciplinary artist rooted in both traditional and digital practices, with a deep focus on metal sculpture using copper, brass, and other non-ferrous metals. Her work centers on the materiality of metal as a conduit for human narratives—reflecting on life, death, and the quiet, persistent weight of living.
Her journey into metal began in 2014 during an intensive apprenticeship in Baguio City, where she trained in arc welding and oxy-acetylene—now her tool of choice. After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines Baguio, she lived and worked in Makati City, where the tension between urban density and personal space became a theme in her evolving body of work.
Now based in Muntinlupa City at the southern edge of Metro Manila, Alex draws from the coexistence of suburban nature and slow urban creep. She is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts at UP Diliman in Quezon City, continuing to refine her voice through metal, fire, and form.
Since 2014, Alex has exhibited her work in various group shows, building a presence in the local art scene with a distinct perspective that marries process, place, and poetic resonance.
